“What I find most unique about Tim is how personal his vision is. His characters often have a childlike innocence, even when they’re supposed to be villains. It’s a happy paradox, where even the most disruptive characters don’t realize what kind of chaos they’re causing.”

In Burton’s universe, Bellucci believes there’s something even deeper for an actor to explore. “There’s so much to his fairy tale. When Tim told me about this important role, and he saw me in it, I didn’t hesitate. I was thrilled to take on the challenge.” Working with Michael Keaton: An enjoyable experience

For Bellucci, the opportunity to share most of her scenes with Michael Keaton was an added bonus. “Working with Michael is a wonderful experience. He brings such an incredible energy to the set – he’s gentle, yet extremely creative. What I loved most was the chemistry between him and Tim. It’s clear that their years of working together have created a strong creative bond, and it was inspiring for everyone on set.”

“You could feel the ease between them, and it added something special to the whole experience. It was really beautiful to see them collaborate so effortlessly.”

Regarding the legacy of the original Beetlejuice, Bellucci is quick to explain why the character is so beloved. “There’s just something about Beetlejuice that’s impossible to untangle. He’s unpredictable, he’s fun, but there’s also a real meaning behind all the chaos. The film touches on themes of love, death and life in a way that feels both quirky and profound.”

With Beetlejuice returning, Bellucci explained how the narrative has evolved. “This time, it’s not just the Deetz family – it’s three generations of Deetz women grappling with otherworldly and unexpected events that bring them back to Winter River. And of course, Beetlejuice is there to haunt them again.”

Tim Burton’s films have always had a way of resonating with audiences of all ages, and Bellucci believes this new Beetlejuice will be no exception. “Tim’s world is a fantasy that speaks to everyone – children, adults and everyone in between. There’s something universal in his storytelling that touches people’s souls deeply.”

Recalling her time working on the film, Bellucci can’t help but appreciate the atmosphere Burton created on set. “He’s very precise, but also very calm. His energy is really inspiring, and it made the whole experience special. I think that energy will come across on screen, and people will feel the same magic when they watch the film.”

With the release in September, Monica Bellucci is looking forward to audiences once again diving into Tim Burton’s strange, whimsical world. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is not just a sequel – it’s the continuation of a story that has captivated generations, and Bellucci feels honored to play a part in it. “Working with Tim and Michael was a pleasure, and I can’t wait for everyone to experience the magic of this film.”
